A - Z Projects

Orion Heritage was commissioned to prepare a heritage assessment to support a planning application. The assessment established that the site had low potential for archaeological remains of prehistoric and Roman date. It also assessed that there was a low potential for archaeological remains of medieval and post-medieval date across the majority of the site and a moderate/high potential for medieval/post-medieval remains in the south-west of the site where, the medieval moated site of White Hall and the Post-Medieval White Hall mansion house are recorded. Sensitive design and masterplanning enabled the archaeological remains in the south-west to be preserved in situ. The Local Planning Authority considered that the archaeology of the site had been dealt with completely appropriately and confirmed that no additional archaeological work was required. As a result, no archaeological condition was imposed on the granting of planning permission.
